Smile To The Future has been accredited by the European Commission as sending and coordinating organization for EVS from Erasmus+!
Erasmus+ is one of the EU funding programmes supporting volunteering activities abroad, which will enable you to contribute to creating a more inclusive and united society. EVS, which is a part of Erasmus+, is an abbreviation for European Voluntary Service, and allows youngsters between 18 and 30 years old to volunteer up to 12 months abroad for a non-profit organisation. These volunteering opportunities can involve a wide range of fields, such as cultural activities, youth work, sports, cultural heritage, arts, animal welfare, environmental protection and development cooperation.
To provide everyone with the opportunity to go abroad with EVS, Erasmus+ provides free accommodation, food, insurance, and pocket money. Of course, in exchange for committing yourself to the work of an organisation abroad. Program countries are in Europe, Northern Africa and Mediterranean partner countries. At the end of your EVS period, you will receive a certificate confirming your participation and describing your project: the Youth pass.
At Smile To The Future we are motivated to learn and share experiences with others. Two of our volunteers took part in a two-part training, the first part being from 23-30 March in Weimar, Germany. The training Volu.M.E. (Volunteer Management Enhanced) is centred around improving EVS projects and competences. The training group consists of 28 youth workers from 10 different countries that share experiences and learn together. The second part of the training, which will focus on applying the theory and a seminar will be this July in Cyprus.
Our volunteers are attending more training courses to be able to start sending and hosting volunteers and support them in their journey. More updates on EVS and training courses will be posted on the website or on our Facebook page!
